DJ Muse
If you’re looking for funky, eclectic and soulful music, you’ve come to the right place. With fifteen years of DJ experience in everything from bars to “raves” to special events, I’m a DJ who is truly a Muse – setting the mood for people to enjoy, dance, or whatever else is desired.
I’ve been a mix DJ for fifteen years now. Starting off as a “retro” DJ at a weekly in Oklahoma City, I’ve played everywhere from Kansas City (at the famous Hurricane Bar), Memphis, Vancouver and Boston (just to name a few). I also did a radio mix show from late 1999 to 2005 on a variety of stations as I moved around the country. I’m mature enough to know the importance of being on time and reliable, but I’ve never lost the sense of joy and fun I get from making people dance.
In 2007, I was asked to be the DJ and sound engineer for the Boston Poetry Slam at the Cantab Lounge. Every Wednesday I’m there playing a diverse mix that exemplifies the unique flavor of this legendary venue for modern performance poetry with a distinctly literary lean.
My style is best described as eclectic, covering styles including (but not limited to!) house, breaks, DnB, Techno, Electro, downtempo/acid jazz, hip hop and indie rock. I’m very creative, know how to build a set, create a mood, and I don’t just play one style (unless it’s required) – I love the freedom of the full dance music palette to choose from. If you’re not quite sure what I mean, stop by the “mixes” tab for some very different mixes to enjoy.
